42apps LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Sum AI – Speech to Text & AI Notes mobile application for iOS and Android (the “App”).

  • Approximate location (derived from IP, not precise GPS)

2. Audio Processing and Transcription
Audio files uploaded to the App are processed using the Whisper speech-to-text model running on our own servers.
Key points:
  • Audio data is used solely for transcription
  • We do not use audio recordings to train machine learning models
  • Access to audio data is restricted and protected by technical safeguards
Audio files may be temporarily stored only as required to complete transcription and deliver results to you.

3. AI Summarization (OpenAI)
Text-based content, including transcriptions and notes, may be processed using OpenAI APIs to generate summaries or structured outputs.

Important clarifications:
  • We do not send raw audio to OpenAI
  • Content is sent only for the purpose of generating summaries
  • OpenAI processes data in accordance with its own privacy and security policies
  • We do not authorize OpenAI to use submitted content to train models on our behalf
AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies and should be reviewed before use.

4. Analytics and Measurement
We use third-party analytics services to understand how the App is used and to improve the Service.
These services include:
  • Apphud for subscription and revenue analytics
  • Amplitude for product analytics and user behavior insights
  • Firebase for crash reporting, performance monitoring, and diagnostics
These services may collect anonymized or pseudonymized data such as device identifiers, usage events, and app performance metrics. They do not receive your raw audio recordings or transcription content.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The App does not use browser cookies.

However, third-party SDKs may use similar technologies (such as device identifiers) for analytics and performance monitoring. You can control certain tracking permissions through your device settings.

6. Service Providers
We may engage trusted third-party service providers to:
  • Host and operate servers

User Content may be deleted when you delete your account or as part of routine data cleanup processes.
